Luís Lázaro Matos was born in 1987 in Évora, Portugal. He lives and works in Lisbon.
He obtained a degree in Painting from the Faculty of Fine Arts of Lisbon University in 2010, and a BA in Art Practice at Goldsmiths College, London, in 2011. In 2013, Lázaro Matos was shortlisted for the Premio EDP Novos Artistas. In 2019, he was awarded the On Demand Prize at Miart 2019 for his project The Fictional Passengers.
